Using the dashboard

Ten pages, each with a job. This section walks through every one of them, so if you're wondering what a chart is telling you or where a setting lives, start here rather than guessing. Dashboard overview covers the home page — the four scorecard tiles, the visibility trend split by model, the competitor bar and the recent activity feed — and the date, model and category filters that apply across the whole page.

Two pages are worth setting up properly before anything else, because everything downstream depends on them. Prompts and categories is where you manage the questions being asked, including bulk import and the category structure you'll use to filter results by topic later. Brands and competitors is where you define what counts as a mention, including aliases and abbreviations so the models' phrasing doesn't slip past the matcher.

After that it's analysis. Scans explains what each status means and how query allowance is consumed; Trends and history shows movement over time within your plan's retention window; and gap analysis, citations and sentiment go deeper on where competitors beat you, which sources are driving that, and how favourably you're described. Feature availability varies by plan and each article says which tier includes it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I run a scan right now instead of waiting?

Open the Scans page and choose to run one, either across all prompts or a subset. Manual scans draw on the same monthly query allowance as scheduled ones. They're most useful straight after adding prompts, or when you want a faster read on a change than the next scheduled run would give. See Scans.

What does prompt coverage mean on a scan?

It's the share of your active prompts the scan processed successfully. A scan only counts as complete at 98% coverage or above, so if a figure looks off, check coverage before concluding your visibility genuinely moved. Statuses and what triggers each are listed in Scans.

Why is a page greyed out or missing for me?

Gap analysis, the full citations view and the full sentiment page are Pro and above; exports are Starter and above; the API and Slack alerts are Pro and above. Each article has a plan-availability table, and Plans and pricing has the full comparison.

How far back does my history go?

As far as your plan's retention window, which ranges from a couple of weeks on the entry tiers to a full year on Advanced. Once data falls outside that window it drops off automatically, so export to CSV regularly if you need a longer record. See Trends and history.

Can I get the data out of SimplyRank?

Yes. Most data pages have a CSV download, PDF reports are available for sharing with stakeholders, and Pro and above include a read-only API for pulling scan data into a BI tool. Export availability starts at Starter. See Exports and API.
