Getting started

If you've just arrived, this is the shortest route to understanding what SimplyRank does and getting real data on your own brand. What is SimplyRank? is the one-page explanation: we run the questions your customers actually ask against ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, then report how often you're mentioned, where you appear in the answer and how you're described.

Setup is a five-step wizard — your domain, your company, a suggested prompt set, your competitors, and the email address we send your sign-in link to. There are no passwords; you sign in with a magic link each time. Starting your free trial walks through each step and what to do when your first scan finishes, which is usually within a few minutes of landing in the dashboard.

The part most people skip is what comes after that first scan, and it's the part that decides whether the tool sticks. Your first week lays out a day-by-day plan: take a baseline before changing anything, sharpen the auto-suggested prompts into questions a real customer would ask, correct your competitor list against the brands the models actually name, then pick one improvement to make. That sequence gives you a defensible baseline and one action underway by the end of the week.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to sign up?

A work email address and your website domain. There's no credit card and no password — we use the domain to detect your industry and pre-fill prompt and competitor suggestions, and we email you a sign-in link. The whole wizard takes a few minutes. See Starting your free trial.

How long until I see results?

Your first scan starts automatically when you reach the dashboard and usually completes in a few minutes, depending on how many prompts you have and how many models your plan covers. Results stream in as each model finishes, so there's nothing to click — refresh once it's done. See Starting your free trial.

Check spam or junk first, then confirm the address was typed correctly and give it a couple of minutes. Corporate mail gateways are the usual culprit, so a personal address is a quick way to tell whether it's a delivery problem or a typo. Full sequence in Common issues.

The suggested prompts don't feel right. Should I change them?

Yes — they're generated from your industry and are a starting point, not a finished set. Replace anything too generic with the specific questions your buyers would type, including comparison and alternative-to questions. This is the single highest-value hour of your first week. See How prompts work.

What should I look at first in the dashboard?

Three numbers: your visibility score, your average position when you do appear, and your sentiment split. Then look at which competitors the models mention most often. Don't change anything on day one — the point is an honest baseline. See Your first week.
